A lost view, a photo from Guangdong, South

Photographer's Note

This is Guangzhou (Canton) by the Pearl river in 1986. Considering the rapid modernization of China since then, I guess this view would look totally different today. I wouldn't be surprised if nothing of this exists any longer.
Scanned from a Kodachrome slide.

A good perspective with the line of boats forming a fine diagonal towards the distant bridge. Good colours and scan!

Hello Gert,

You're capturing well this cityscape by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the big Guangdong of South China faced to the calm/wide Pearl river. It's tasteful for the group of historical high building and boats anchored in a line to the river. The whole is harmonized well by a good arrangement and beautiful color combination.

Hello Gert, I am looking at your China pictures and I find this one from Guangzhou. For sure, it must look quite different now. But maybe the tower with the clock and the bridge on the Pearl River are still there. Excellent perspective, the colours and sharpness are also OK. Good scan. and only six points until now.

I wanted to visit canton, but I only crossed it fast by train. in fact it isn't a famous tourist spot, but I am sure it should have many interesting details to show. we can see nice details here and some old european buildings from the colonial times. nice view.
