Photographer's Note

My first Kumbha Mela in Ujjain. India. What an experience that was! On an auspicous night when there is a full moon new Naga's enter the holy river at sunrise to become the sevants of the their God.
Their bodies are covered in ash and they wear garlands around their necks.

A picture from the Stone Age, a ritual in the modern times. The men look in their seriousness much impressing. One can imagine oneself however only very insufficiently into the men. We can thus only be astonished. The photo lives also on the fact that the men look directly into the camera. Altogether a very much impressing picture. Many greetings, Wolfgang.

Wow, Christopher, what should I say? I'm not really sure about the use of flsh in here, neither the way they're all "smiling and rejoycing" posing to the photographer. I guess you had a fantastic subject here, but I wonder if you couldn't have, well... asked them to look at.... "the girl from ipanema goes walking, And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah".

Well, you know, less posed.
