Interesting idea, the large dark surround does draw string attention to the light area in the centre, and even though I couldn't see what it was from the thumbnail, it intrigued me to look deeper. I like your framing too, I wouldn't know how to frame a shot like this, your idea works well.

This is a fine low-key night shot, full of atmosphere and even mystery. I really like your use of negative space here. Excellent image that deserves far more attention than it's so far received.
