Photographer's Note
This is the classic angle from which to take a picture of Calcutta's Victoria Memorial, a British Raj-era building that now houses a museum and art gallery. The Victoria Memorial is perhaps the most recognizable symbol of Calcutta.
We got to the Memorial too late to enter, and it promptly began to rain; just a few seconds after I'd taken this picture.

Extreme frame (with the subject in the lower part) but a strong visual impact. The low definition enhances the mood you get there. I do appreciate the composition.
Welcome on TE.

Hello Sanchia,
Very impressive with grey-white sky...
It emphasizes more the monumental architecture.
Well done,

Hello again,
i am checking your recent gallery and find this pearl! i really like the way you framed it although you say it a classic! But it is the first time i see it, so... I do like the symetrical approach, and the fact that you left a lot of space for the grainy sky! It oes bring intensity and emotions in this photo!
Congrats and welcome on TE
Eric
