This is the clay idol of Goddess Durga...I took this snap at Kumortuli,Kolkata...Durga Puja is the famous festival of Bengali,which is held in the month of October.I am also a Bengali Guy :)

Kumortuli (also spelt Kumartuli, or the archaic spelling Coomartolly) (Bengali: কুমোরটুলি) is a traditionally potters� quarter in northern Kolkata (previously known as Calcutta), the capital of the east Indian state of West Bengal. By virtue of their artistic productions these potters have moved from obscurity to prominence. This Kolkata neighbourhood, not only supplies clay idols of Hindu gods and goddesses to barowari pujas in Kolkata and its neighbourhoods, but a number of idols are exported.

A fascinating sculpture, excellent textures and plays of light. The image appears a little blurred, but that's probably due to the difficult light conditions. Thanks for sharing and I wish you a lovely evening.

For a split second, I thought you had use the fill flash, but no! love the luminosity you've captured on Maa Durga's face. A fine representation of the Idol, with plenty details to look at! oh! I've just noticed Shiva's face in BG ;)

Les jeux d'ombres donnent beaucoup de relief ici, c'est bien de na pas avoir utilis� un flash par exemple. Cela manque juste un peu de nettet�.
