Photographer's Note
The Dakhineswar Kali Temple built by Rani Rashmoni who was a devotee of Kali. This temple is located in Dakhineswar. Dakhineswar is situated on the eastern bank of Hooghly river. The temple compound, apart from the nine-spired main temple, contains a large courtyard surrounding the temple, with rooms along the boundary walls. There are twelve shrines dedicated to Shiva揖ali's companion預long the riverfront, a temple to Radha-Krishna, a bathing ghat on the river, a shrine dedicated to Rani Rashmoni.

The temple is impressive and maybe it looks better from this position across the river than it would actually do from nearby. The crowded boats are strong competitors for the attention. They help to create a good atmosphere and to make the view look very exotic to Europeans. This is a well balanced and well composed photo.

Nice picture taken of the Dakshineshwar temple from the river. The light is quite soft and I might have wished some punch in the shot...but compo wise this is good
