The Mall - Chowrastha

This is the heart of the town of Darjeeling and holds a special place for all, especially the locals.

People from all walk of lives gather around here.
The mornings are thronged by the joggers and morning walkers. Old, young and fitness enthusiasts are seen taking a lap of the surrounding mall road (a 1.5Km circular road, surrounded by flora and fauna with a breathtaking view of the himalayas and the town)
As the sun breaks and warms the air tourists and town people take to the benches to warm themselves.

It is a sight to behold, the tea sellers doing their brisk business, the tourists posing for their pictures, the pony walkers looking to ferry people on their ponies, the religious folks returning from the nearby Mahakal Dham(temple) and the young boys and girls lazing around.
