SHIVA IN BLUE, a photo from Gujarat, West

Photographer's Note

We entered in Gujarat and soon we found this curious hindu temple in a slope, in fact it is usual to find hindu temples mixed with giant sculptures. This one is at side of Shiva, frequently shown in blue, according with tradition the devils poisoned the oceans and Shiva drank the whole poison to avoid some creature died and because this he became blue.
My driver was afraid because he never had visited this state before and the language and calligraphy were different.

Entramos no estado de Gujarat e logo nos deparamos com este templo hindu na beira da rodovia, erguido numa encostas e com uma grande est疸ua de Shiva ao lado, algo que � comum por l�. Shiva � frequentemente pintado em azul.
Meu motorista estava assustado pois ele jamais havia ido a este estado, onde o idioma e a escrita s縊 diferentes da terra dele.

Hello Jorge,
The temple is small but the statue is impressive. Places like this make India look so incredibly exotic to foreigners. The thick green background makes these religious symbols look even more stunning.
I visited Gujarat more than 30 years ago and found it one of the most interesting states of India. There were so many fabulous sights and very few tourists. Everyone went to Rajasthan and hardly anyone to Gujarat. Maybe that has changed now.

Ola Jorge, Till now I knew all places you show but I haven't been in Gujarat. Excellent composition with this big Shiva statue. It is always shown in blue, I do not know why. Interesting sign and swastika.

All the religions have a nice symbol, a wonderful place with the stairway in foreground.
An excellent composition pleasant presentation.

This is a very interesting photo of this large blue and gold statue next to the tower, which also features some blue elements. It all stands out very nicely against the dark green background.

The statue and the building in front of it look like they are made of porcelain. The color combination is quite pleasant.
