Photographer's Note
Dawn is an eternal cyclical event of nature. It appear as a calm and peaceful pastel on the horizon with a colour saturation to the blue that is the shortest wavelength of the visible light spectrum.
Very quickly the short wave-length of blue changes to the yellow and red of the longer wave-lengths during sunrise.
Sandakphu is the highest point at the extreme north of West Bengal. A gorgeaous panoramic view of most of the famous peaks of The Great Eastern Himalayas are available here. The picture shows the Simvo and Pandim range of Sikkim.
It was early dawn at Sandakphu.
The night lights in the tourist huts were still on. Misty clouds were quietly resting in the valleys as not yet disturbed by the warmth of the early sun.
Not a single pack of cloud dared to obstruct the clear view of the Giants of Sikkim - the Simvo, Pandim and others.
My digital photo machine was active along with my eyes behind the lens.

Hello Dr. Bhunia,
Lovely composition. You have captured the dawn very well with all those clouds in the sky. A dramatic scene indeed. Sunrise in Sandakphu is a heavenly experience and you have been the witness of a memorable morning. Lovely composition here with the trekker hut in the forground, light and colours are perfect.
Hope to see some more from you.
Best regards,
Sayan

Hi Dr J.,
An awesone view from this good point, I like how the hanging fog outlines the different distances of the succeeding ranges, and it's good to have some foreground too with the buildings. Considering the strongest asset of this photo is not the sky to me I would consider cropping at least half of it to get more panoramic in format, which suits well this kind of view.
Have a nice week end,
Jean-Yves

I would have to say Dr Bhunia that this is in my opinion one of the best photos in your latest gallery. I love the low angled lighting. An incredible photo and it has to go into my favorites. Thanks for sharing!

The light is just fabulous in this, Dr J, and I like the layering and the play between light and shadow. The wispy clouds and the mist in the valley all add atmosphere to this image. However, looking at the foreground objects (trees, hut, sign, etc) there seems to be a slight tilt to the right, which spoils it a lttle for me. Cheers . . . David

Nice, Roerich paintings like colors in this one, Bhunia! I like the combination of the coolness of the mist and the sky with the warmth of the sunlight that has broken through to light up a few spots in the lower center of your photo. My compliments!
