Zatra Festival II, a photo from Goa, West

Photographer's Note

Every year in the first week of January, Zatra festival is celebrated for 5 days at Shri Bodgeshwar Temple in Mapusa (a small town in north Goa, situated 13kms from Panaji).
See my previous post...

In the paddy field in front of the temple people are under a red tent. As well, many kids are around playing.
when I saw the little girl coming towards me, with her red cheeks and her shining eyes, I couldn t resist to photography her (even though the light was harsh).

Marilyn, with eyes like that even the harshest light is not a deterrent to point your camera to capture them. Very well done with this portrait. Her eyes are full of kindness, innocence and curiosity. Very nice, heartwarming picture :-)

Hi Marilyn. Wonderful portrait. This has the all important emotional ingredient. I think the light is OK, you have no deep shadows on the face. Well captured and thanks for sharing.

Yes, Marilyn, that's what this photo is about: those increadible shining eyes and her red cheeks. Everything else is just completing and enhancing this bright look. Amazing shot with a dificult light. Philipes's ws is making it even more impressive.

A great taking. The clearness and the resistance of the same one, allow to appreciate but the slight detail. The participation of the subject is essential, it calls the attention with that great glance, and although the bottom, can get to distract, is not very well-known.

I envy you, being in India. It's on my list, probably make it next year...
Just got back from Vietnam, visited the northern villages of Sapa, Bac Ha. Amazing trip. Face, people, you capture well. As you see your close-ups are magical. Remember to get close to subjects, watch for background, poles, trash, objects that take ones eyes away from the subject. Keep in touch..cheers
