Photographer's Note

Photography is more than a hobby to me, it is a passion that allows me to capture timeless moments & share them with others. Nature more than anything speaks to my heart - it reminds me to stop & enjoy the simple pleasures that nature has to offer. I prefer to work with natural light, allowing colours, reflections & contours to paint a picture that captures the beauty of what is before me. Looking at life through the lens gives me a glimpse of the beauty God has created. I hope that this shot reminds us of the beauty that is found all around us.

While the light isn't overly creative, I simply love the sense of the great outdoors and open space in this shot before actually many people wake up. It is worth watching and incomparable to any other form of beauty as the sun appears above the horizon shaded by the bleak heavy cloud formations, looked so heavy it almost seemed they would fall down on the water. But that is when things can get very interesting and fascinate me. And the joy of photography is also about enjoying the moment of capture..

Took this shot about six in the morning from a small fishing village in Bajoe, Watampone, on the east coast of South Sulawesi province. This by no means does it justice but I did try to capture it in the calm and peaceful settting in which it was set...

Wow, this is sensational Abmdsudi. The quality here is outstanding and I need to pinch myself to know I am looking at a photograph. The layers and complexity of the clouds are really beautiful and the light is glorious. There is an almost 3D feel to the sky such good depth have you recorded. Stunning is the word that comes to mind, and I can think of no other to describe this scene. The light, the rays, the shapes of the clouds and colours all together are simply breath taking. I love your note too, I tried a number of years ago to start doing as you do, and to start admiring the world around,a nd to see the beauty in the everyday. It makes for a much happier life to take a moment now and then and see what so many others miss.

Hello Abmdsudi,
I can figure you standing on that beach waiting for exactly the right moment, when the little boat entered the red zone created by the risning sun. The sunrays and the clouds have combined for a spectacular perfomance of light, colours and shapes and all that was needed to reach perfection was that boat. The man in the boat was probably totally unaware that he at that moment was in a perfect position, exactly one third from the frame of a photo.

Hi Abmdsudi,

This Sunset is glorious, the stormy cloud is dramatic with deep dark gray, at the sun was able to reach up there through another thick layer just in front of it, illuminated the cloud and painted in golden and orange red, I can see it almost sink below the dark cloud, highlighting it really beautifully, the presen of the sail boat adds a perfect anchor point to our vision drawing us in, and alloweing the viewer to imagine being there in the middle of it all, this beautiful environment. Congrats and welcome back, good to have you back and thanks for catching up with me.

I like in particular your low light photos. This is a great example here. The effects in the sky are spectacular but you did a fantastic job exposing it so well. I like the little boat passing exactly the best possible spot here to provide a nice silhouette.

You always seem to find the most beautiful sunsets, Abmdsudi... I wonder if you have a different sun than we have here! Outstanding shot, well worht the attention it has already gotten. Perfect silhouette in the shaft of reflected light, and the clouds are exquisite in their definition and detail. There's an incredible sweep to the sky, and it looks far wider and more extensive than the 800px of TE's limitations should allow. Amazing light management and perfect timing to create this beauty. You're capturing well this sunrise scene by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's impressive to see the sky and sea dyed to orange color. It's effective for some fishing boats with silhouette on the sea, too. Especially, it's beautiful for the boat with a triangular mast and reflection. And, it's impressive in thick gray cloud covering the sky in sunrise.

this composition is a true symphony of chiaroscuro and wonderful hues.
The sky and the clouds seems to burn, creating an image absolutely attractive and with a great peace feeling.
