Photographer's Note
This is a sports called kendo.
The kendo wears the kendo wear, so-called 'Hakama'. It is basically a bare foot, and there is the one to
wear the tabi according to the player, too.
Though a dark blue uniform had been worn in old
times, it's changing to wear white ones recently.
I took a photo at Tokyo Budoukan the Tokyo high school synthesis sport meet kendo rally was held.
(p.s.)
Kendo (剣道, kendō), or "way of the sword", is the Japanese martial art of fencing. Kendo developed from traditional techniques of Japanese swordsmanship known as kenjutsu.
Kendo is a physically and mentally challenging activity that combines strong martial arts values with sporting-like physical elements.
Kendo is practiced wearing traditionally styled clothing and protective armour (bōgu), using one or two bamboo swords (shinai) as weapons.
- Game form
The game of the kendo always fights by couple 1.
- Game place
A square game place of about 9mラ9m or 11mラ11m is made on the boarded floor, and, then, it plays a game. The boundary usually pastes and divides a white line tape.
- Game time
It is five minutes standards at the game time , and three minutes are in case of
extra innings.
- Technique
All the techniques strike the respect to which the protector is decided by the
bamboo sword.
* Technique for clapping small hand
* Technique for striking head
* Technique for striking trunk
- Judge
It is assumed the display of the touche by three judges (Consist of one chief umpire and two sub-referees) having a red and white flag, and enumerating the flag. When two people or more display the touche or one judge displays the touche and two people display the abstention from the judgment, it becomes one.

Hello Kato - San,
Beautiful, very dynamic shot, indeed!
Rich in colours, textures and movement.
It's not easy to capture so dynamic scenes properly.
This shot is an good example, that's anyway possible!
Greetings from Dublin!
