When I live in Tokyo for a long time, there is a time of liking to take a walk at the place where an old atmosphere sometimes remains in quest of warmth of a town. It is one of them also here. Here is faced to Sumida River of Chūō-ku, and it is located in one corner surrounded by the skyscraper. However, it is a town which leaves very old rows of houses. The private house and the shopping center live together and it has left the image of the 1960s. The small stores are standing on both sides of long street in Tsukishima. It is the individual store stuck to the area centering on the restaurant. And, when we enter to thin alley from main street a garden tree is also seen occasionally placed in front of a house. Thukuda and Tsukishima are adjoined and there are many private houses, too. Thukuda is a river which leads to Sumida River in the center, and some fishing boats were at anchor. Probably, it is a ship which comes out to Tokyo Bay and takes small fish. This is the birthplace of the food boiled down in soy which saves and eats small fish. Moreover, the lovely red bridge built over a river was impressive. The skyscraper apartment building made in redevelopment is in a stretch of this back, contrast of this old place and new buildings are accomplished, and it is interesting. There is a school in the back hand of a town. The elementary school and the junior high school coexisted from the influence of decrease in population to the same building.
