This photograph is taken while walking and going from Akihabara Station to Nihonbashi. Although it is an area over Chiyoda-ku and Chuo-ku which are the centers in Tokyo this whole place, it is the place which left the atmosphere of the still old business district, and many small and medium-sized enterprises are living together to the low-rize buildings in comparison. The Showa street passes along the neighborhood. As a type of industry, it is various, such as a wholesale house, a fiber company, the construction industry, and food business etc. When I got down from Akihabara Station, many salaried workers who attend their office in the morning walked along the Izumi bridge above Kanda river at a quick pace, and were crossing in the Iwamotochō or the direction of Sakumachō. I avoided the main street intentionally and walked the back lane. Many buildings in the both sides of a narrow alley have jostled as a crevice may not have, so that it may see from the second left of the photograph. Occasionally, I found individual stores, such as autoparts, coffee shop and some restaurants on the first floor of the building as seen from the right of a photograph. When I was working regularly, the surroundings of a company have many coffee shops, and I killed the time there, but the many have disappeared now. However, a small park in some places remained also in such a business district. On the other hand, a smoking section, a public telephone booth, and the public place into which garbage are dumped disappeared from the town rapidly. Probably, this is also the flow united with change of the situation of a time.
