Photographer's Note

This photograph is taken by passing, while I am walking along the town in Ikebukuro. The big track stopped at the other side in the main street, and some workers were doing exterior work of the building using the ladder. When I see this building well, it seems to be the store treating the goods of anime, considering a signboard. Person like the heroine of girls' comics were drawn on the signboard. Seemingly this store is a store which sells of a comic magazine, anime figure, character goods, T-shirt, image goods, music goods, a game etc,. for anime. Probably, costume play goods are also sold in here. Although I may be an old generation, I am out of understanding about the feelings which some young men and women concern with such a thing. It may be the freedom of the person himself/herself, but it is visible like the world of the narcissist who wants to twist to the hero of a tale somehow. Seemingly, such a store is located in the major cities all over my country.

Hello Mikio,
This photo shows very well the busy confusion of a city street. Some work is going on outside the building where young people buy their anime magazines and figures. Like you I don't have much interest in such figures but the large postures on the second floor make the view very lively and interesting.

pity about the truck and scaffolds, I'd really like a photo with the beautiful painted signs above the store lintel, Mikio.
Yet, managed a fine clear photo, with many details to watch.

Hello Mikio,

It seem that the government is not strictly is with the scaffold legislation, these scaffold is not regulatory.
But as photographer is this not important.
What a quiet picture with a pleasant river and nice winter image.
You chose a very well angle this care for depth and perspective.
A nice composition, lovely colours, sharpness makes everything nice.

People-watching is one of my favorite pastimes. This photo is very busy, but pleasantly so. In spite of the overabundance of colors and shapes, a story emerges out of the chaos. Very well done!
