Photographer's Note

This photograph is taken in the park of Tokyo Itabashi-ku. I was taking a walk its neighborhood on that day, after going to Jūjō shopping center. This circumference has many schools in a college town. The Shakujii river with which Sumida River is filled is flowing into the back hand, and it is blessed also with the green tract of land in comparison in the metropolitan area. Since I got tired a little, I took breath drinking soft drink on the bench of the park on a slightly elevated hill. It seems to be the park contiguous to an elementary school. The schoolchildren who finished the school pass impending occasionally. I noticed that the local schoolchildren who finished the school were playing the swing currently installed in the site of a park. A residence crowds in the center of Tokyo and it has few big parks. Children's playground is also restricted to such a narrow park. Nowadays, there are various children who finish a school. Some children go to a cram school, some play outdoors in this way and some are playing the game at home. Anyway, even if play experience of boyhood differs in a kind, also after we take age, we remember it vividly.

This is a lovely photo of ordinary life in Tokyo. Frankly, I appreciate such photos more than photos of famous places.

Hello Mikio,

Great shot of the boys playing on the swings in the park after school.The reminiscence of childhood also reminds me similarly when I visit my local Park at Park Circus in Calcutta.Only a new set of children have taken over from where we left in the 80s.Excellent composition, very well done, TFS.

A fine photo showing your talent for making nice compositions of very simple glimpses of daily life. I like the look of the three boys at different levels of the swings and the blue and yellow lines surrounding them. You often manage to make very undramatic events look interesting.

Hello Mikio. Children are very spontaneous and have eyes for the beautiful and exciting things. A swing is naturally a beautiful thing. The photo is dynamic and full of action. You've photographed in the ideal moment.

Excellent capture at just the right moment, but the whole scenario is fantastic. I can only admire the relaxed informality that you convey so well. They fill the frme nicely and that way perhaps the body language is more striking.It is a terrific fun which give then joy on this bright afternoon light and I like the slight motion blur.
