Photographer's Note

This photograph is taken in Rikugien garden in the end of autumn four years ago. It seemed that the leaf of marple trees dyed red and symbolized last autumn.
The almsgiving which tells "Yukitsuri" to the big tree of the pine of a garden and protects trees from cold or snow on it was made. Only the stone lantern stood in the figure which does not change all the year round.

Stone lantern: It is a lantern of a basic form. This lantern is called the work of the Edo last stage. It consists of seven parts. The partial names from a top are a holy jewel,　hat, fire plate, middle plate, pole, the foundation, and a foundation stone. Material is a granite of the kind of rock where magma got cold and which was solidified and made.

Yukituri: Yukitsuri is a technique for preserving trees and shrubs from heavy snow. Trees are given extra support by bamboo poles with ropes attached to limbs; whereas, shrubs are often tied tightly around the circumference.

Autumn time one of the most beautiful periodes of the year.
We get fantastic fall colors around the lake in the garden.
Perspective and depth for a daily life picture is great.
You chose an excellent composition and also pleasant colors

nice the view of Rikugien garden with the colours of the Autumn leafs to make the scene so beautiful and remarkable.I like the balance of the image with the left stone lantern to prohibit to see the whole image as the lake too.

Hi dear Mikio. I see that you have been busy on TE. I took a break for a month or so. Interesting note. I had seen poles supporting limbs of trees and thought it was because the trees were old, now thanks to your note i see it has also to do with the heavy deposits of snow. Lovely light and colours. Pity the man's head isn't visible, but then it is hard to heave everything as it should be when the composition dictates the photographer's position. Best wishes. Klaudio.

The foliage color is remarkable. It's a very nice and quiet composition fall. I appreciate the shaded sculpture, and landscape lighting. Excellent light, colors, sharpness and depth. Bravo.

Seems a good season to visit Japan. The colours of the leaves are really eye catching and I like this composition. This tree with the red leaves in foreground and the stone lantern are perfect here.

This is by far your best photyo on TE, the charming red/orange leaves contrast the green park in view, and people placed off-center on picture, whilke on the other part there is a lake and old stone-lantern as prominent element - all culminate to a wonderful composition.
Fabulous and well done photo, depth and clarity is super.
