At the midle of November, gils of 7 and 3 yeras and boys of 5 yeras go to the shrine to pray thier well growth. We can see so charming and colorful children at that time. This was taken last year, I will do so this yera too.

Oh, Takero, it's wonderful!!

Hi dear Takero. I was lucky to be in Japan during such an important time in the calendar.I was told that this festival comes from a period in Japan's past when child mortality was high and parents sought heavenly protection and also thanked the gods for their beneficence. The little girl is very cute, beautifully dressed and poses perfectly. Her umbrella creates a fine background that almost hides the persons and building behind her. Sharpness, colours and light are all superb.

We certainly do not get to see such umbrella's here in Canada, so this is a nice treat.

I like her quiet smile :)
and the umbrella extends so far outwards it fill up the frame so well.
