Photographer's Note
several days ago, I found one very old printed photo of a German sailor. he was a guide of the ship that came to Japan.
I took this cheerful portrait, when I was junior high school student, with my rather simple camera.
I know the focus was a little out, but captured his expression enough well.

Dear Akihisa,
it is beautiful soft portrait of young sailor. Capture full of nostalgia and dreamy look. He has excellent expression, expression of hundred words and thousand interpretations. I can imagine him looking at a young girl with this attractive look, smiling at her, liking her. Focuse is just prefect in my opinion. Not to sharp to give it this softness, beautiful depthness and feeling. It is marvelous portrait. Thank you for sharing past moments!
Kind regards

Hi Akihisa,
I would agree with Jeri, this is a good portrait, very nostalgic, he has a soft air about him, so young, I like the way the skin comes out of the dark coat, you got a lot out of this scan and I think the sepia tone was a very good idea.

Nice picture evoking times passed by. Nostalgic feel, no pretense. I like it.

Dear Akihisa,
indeed, the portrait is very good! The sailor's facial expression was captured very well. He looks happy! I wonder what (or who) he was looking at and where hs is now... He looks a bit fragile - so young!
thank you!
best wishes,
Elena
