Photographer's Note
This photograph is taken to the Fukagawa Hachiman festival which is one of the three major festivals of Edo(Tokyo). Fifty-four sets of large mikoshis assembled the place along the route, and it went about 8 km in procession. It is the feature that cleaner water is showered over a bearer from spectators along the route as the alias of the traditional shout of "Washoi and Washoi" and "water credit festival". Bearers and spectators are united, and the festival of Fukagawa rises as a festival which tells the essence of Edo soon. It is carefully inherited by many people.
This mikoshi is shouldered only by the woman. They was marching with sufficient energy wearing Happi.
(p.s.)
1. Happi: Happi is a traditional Japanese straight-sleeved coat usually made of indigo or brown cotton and imprinted with a distinctive mon (crest). They are usually worn only to festivals.
2. The bearer of a mikoshi: workshops

Hello Mikio,
I like this photo for several reasons, one being that the ceremony is performed only by women, another reason being that the ceremony takes place in an ordinary city street which makes it look very much like a part of daily life. There are many details showing the strength and determination of the participants. That is also the reason why I like the workshop photo. There we see very closely the good-humoured and determined faces of some of the women.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Mikio,
a good reportage shot from the Fukagawa Hachiman festival with all these powerful women to carry mikoshi, wearing their traditional Happi.
I like all this energy that the women have as the lot of people that cover every inch of the photo.

Hi Mikio
Yes, they are strong indeed carrying the heavy float but they are fully prepared for the event by looking at the tigh guards, knee guards etc, a tremendous joint effort there. The excitment, expression and their enthuasiasm make this high action shot for me. I like your viewpoint that gives a direct approach and closeness, despite the slight backlighting it is well managed with pleasing exposure. I can only imagine the number of participants there. Colors, contrast and sharpnes are so good and looks so natural Execellent picture. Thank you and congratulations.
Warm regards
