Photographer's Note
After the monkey performed tricks for the crowd, and the trainer got his money from them, they retired to the shade of a tree to give the monkey a break. Eating crushed ice from the same spoon, they took a well earned break.
The saying "Gokurou-San" is a way of thanking someone for their hard work.
This was taken in the grounds of the Nezu Shrine near Tokyo University. I went try and get a good photo of the Azalea Festival.

i like the complicity between the man and the animal..
they are like brothers.. like two lovers maybe..
I feel some love in the man's gesture. i love it.

I visited Tokyo last june and take a video of this boy this his monkey! I'm surprise to recognize his face at your foto! I'm quite sure it's the same person.
I just found out this site today and admire your fotos of Japan. Thank you!

The face of the animal is like a child and the man is feeding like a mother. Very nice picture.
