Photographer's Note

This photograph is taken while returning from the Yanaka shopping shopping street in Tokyo Nippori. This general dealer was in the right-hand side on the way of going up a hill and going to a station. Many baskets of colorful rattan were put on in front of the store. The woman who wore Japanese clothes had chosen the article at the store. The tool of traditional Japan, such as a chair, a broom, and a bucket etc is also put on inside of a shop. This area is a place which it leaves deeply the atmosphere of the Tokyo downtown area. On both sides of the thin passage, individual stores such as a foods store, a liquor store, a clothing store, and a bookstore etc stand in a row crowdedly. At the time of the evening, many people comes to shopping here. It is one of the places which leaves the image of the old good time of Tokyo.
