Photographer's Note

I visited the Yanaka Ginza in Nippori after a long time on that day. This is an old popular shopping center in the Tokyo downtown area. The daily dish store, the butcher, the greengrocery, the fish dealer, etc. are located in a line with narrow the both sides of the passage. Many tourists had gathered here probably because of Sunday. I dropped in at Yanaka Cemetery which adjoins at Nippori Station in return. This is a cemetery which has leading plottage also in a metropolitan area. When I was walking along the inside of a site, many families who are coming for an ancestor's visit to a grave were seen. Many taxis had parked as the end of a cemetery. Probably, those who come for a visit to a grave will use it. Besides, the stray cat stopped in front of the taxi, and it was looking up at drivers long. Is anything waiting to give food? It was a humorous spectacle.

Hi Mikio,
I usually go in order visiting your gallery, but this one is too cute to wait for, it's got a car and a cat - too cute to pass over. I remember reading a story in my childhood called, "The Cat Who Went to See the Queen." This might be the Japanese version of that story, "The Cat Who Went to See the Emperor," and in this photo, she's waiting for the door to her taxicab to open to go to the palace.

This is a nice little glimpse of daily life of a stray cat in the big city. Cats are always looking for food, but I wonder what this one could expect to get from a taxi. The workshop photos are also very interesting, maybe especially the one from the busy shopping street. I am amazed at seeing all the wires hanging in the air.

I love the composition in this one, an enchanting image, how cute is he. This is amusing seen probably waiting eagerly for a piece of meat to fall from the wiindow! or most likely he's enjoying the warmth vibrant colours of taxi, but I'm glad he's so focused enough so you could take your time taking this shot!
