Photographer's Note
Here is a Yoyogi gym in Harajuku in Tokyo. When going to see the sports game that had been held in the second adjoining gym, the roof this architecture was constructed. The swimming race game etc. were done on the national stadium constructed in preparation for holding Tokyo Olympics in 1964 at the Olympics.
Still, it is used in the sporting event such as volleyballs and baskets and concerts etc. The design of the gym is the one with Kenzo Tange's hand, and Tange's typical work.
The technology of the hanging structure similar to Suspension Bridge is used, and the entire roof is hung from two main pillars. It is an unusual structural building without the pillar internally designed to concentrate the spectator on the game.
