Photographer's Note

It's Aoyama street in Tokyo, and it's a part of route 246. National Route 246 is a major highway on the island of Honshū in Japan. It originates in Chiyoda, Tokyo and terminates in Numazu, Shizuoka. This photograph was taken towards the direction of Akasaka from the pedestrian crossing in front of an outer garden. Many business complexes stand in a row on both sides.

National Route 246: After Tokaido is improved at the Edo period, in the form where the Ashigara way is met mostly, a road is newly improved and it comes to be used as a near round trip of Tokaido. Like Tokaido, various parts of the Tokaido place along the route were connected to Edo, and people and goods came, went and developed. The total extension is 122.7 km.

Hi Mikio
its great to see Tokyo like this.
we don't get to view the city in this manner on an everyday basis.
I know you wanted to use the red as a focal point, or a point of interest, but for me, its the city streets and buildings, and just seeing the layout.

nice the desaturation of the image with the red truck to be the eye catcher of the image.I like the created perspective with the empty road to adds depth in the scene.

Another nice B&W presentation from you of the street from Tokyo.The sharpness in excellent as well as the lighting to give good depth of field and all around view of the roadside.Very well done and nicely presented.TFS.

Very good B&W composition with a touch of red.
Good balance withe gray scale
But the wide angle gave some lens distortions.

Hi Mikio
A street scape and concrete jungle seen centrally from stunning perspective and enormous depth. A beautifully apportioned image with the road recedes to infinity and dividing equally into two-half. Whilst I am not typically a fan of selective coloring, the vivid red looks to be well executed and places and emphasise on the point of the image. This sort of scene always give such a flavour of the local place. Excellent clarity, tonal contrast and sharpness, this works very well. Fine shot, TFS
