Mannequin as advertisement and promotion, a photo from 東京, 関東

Photographer's Note

This photograph is taken in Omotesando of Shibuya-ku, Tokyo in the winter of last year. It is known as a shopping street in the 1.1 km section to from Aoyama street to the jingu bridge crossing. In along Omotesando, many shops which the major brand store of the inside and outside of Japan is accumulating focusing on an apparel maker stand in a row. In the middle of the passage, the apparel maker's mannequin had decorated the show window. One mannequin wearing blue one-piece dress put the hand on the waist, attach red wig and was standing. The other wore the blouse of calm color and the white skirt, and was sitting on the sofa having attached green wig and looking down. Probably, as a store, the mannequin is exhibited as an advertisement/promotion strategy tied to purchase. Now, there are diversified sales forms, such as a mail order using a television shop, catalog sales, or the Internet. While competing with the above, it is difficult for the window display of such a shop front to guess how much sales have effect.

A fine view with almost no glass glare, Mikio.
The WS itseldf shows the dynamic shopping area around.

There are good stuffs to choose from but it's the elegant look of the 'models' making the shot looks so pleasing with that little touch of vivid red as colour breaker. The framing is good, clear and lovely dash of light brilliantly caught and I like the glancing look as if she's looking into your lens. Great capture and tx for sharing.
