Photographer's Note

This photograph is taken in the precincts of a temple in Meiji Shrine. Meiji Shrine is the shrine which deified Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken. This is a shrine with the vast precincts of about 700,000 square meters. I entered this shrine from Yoyogi entrance, and walked toward the Main Hall. When I are walking the courtyard in front of Main Hall, I met strong rainstorm suddenly, and then I moved to the near corridor having a roof, and I sheltered from the rain for a while until it stopped getting down. The Shinto priest was gazing at the rain situation when I turned my eyes to Main Hall. After a while, it stopped raining and the young Shinto priest was cleaning the courtyard with a broom.

Hi dear Mikio. I absolutely love this photo as it is a rare thing to catch such a combination of a strong rainstorm and sunshine, plus a Shinto priest! You used the opportunity given to you to create a composition in the style of the Japanese woodblock print of the 19th, early 20th century. If the two partially hidden persons were not visible, it would have been an even more wonderful image.Maybe cloning the one closest to the priest could be done, but the man would be harder because of the window grid behind him. Hello Mikio,
There was a special light enhanced the down-pour of the rainstorm on image.
A well done photojob show this view under the rain, and with the shrine provided shelter to the man in its doorstep.
A fine clear photo, unique golden tone.

Hi Mikio
People too busy these days to enjoy some of the simple things in life, nice to see that some remember to do it. Well captured this is very well taken and epitomises peace and tranquility and the captivating Meji Shrine with rain effect is indeed lovely. My only niggle is that, greenish tinge dont appear natural, imho white colour correction will address this issue, other than that, it' a fine shot. Congrats.
