Photographer's Note

This photograph is taken in the underground passage in Shiodome in Tokyo. The big commercial signboard of the cosmetic company was built　faced　the passage. Although I don't know the name of this model, probably the famous beauty actress will be appointed as advertisement. When cosmetics are used, all women do not seem to change into a beauty, but the celebrity who dares to have the degree of favorable impression to a woman will be used since it is a type of industry which gives a dream. Passersby had passed the signboard front expressionlessly. Probably, there is also nothing to the extent that it stops and sees in busy life. Many commercial signboards stand in the station or the city. As a company, it tied up with the advertising agency and uses as promotion of an in-house product. It seems that promotion of a product is also contained in a difficult time in the modern society where a newspaper and television are on the decline.

Hi Mikio,
One of your most eye catching of your recent shots. I like the contrasts between reality and the world of advertising, it is like the adm with it's size, is an aspiration. The people below are a little dark,but it kind of works as a metaphor maybe.

What a dramatic composition. Although it is not strictly a photo of visitors at a museum, it has the atmosphere. Accordingly, if you don't mind, I will put this "beauty" in the group theme, Pictures at an Exhibition.

Advertising cosmetic, yes it is the dream, it is also learning the futility, it is still an illusion for the person who puts on makeup, and encouragement of lies to seduce. But anyway, I like to see women win, even with cosmetic;) Excellent quality. Bravo.

The two ladies almost as silhouerttes against the big pic. in the underground-station.
