Photographer's Note

This is Sugamo with Togenuki Jizo (thorn-pulling Jizo). It is supposed that there are profits also in a sick recovery improvement Kogan-ji temple which is here, and it is free from a worshipper focusing on elderly people in quest of the profits. It is a fair on the 4th of month and many people had visited to pray from usually on that day. Since many persons had gathered on the sidewalk on the way to a temple, when I approached, two musicians were performing. One person flipped the accordion as accompaniment and the other had sung the song by his natural voice. They weared the dress of retro with early stages of Showa era. The music to sing is nostalgic music listened to well when those who come for worship were young. The spectator was enraptured with expression which recollects youth. Some spectators were putting the chip in the hat placed before the players.
