Photographer's Note
This photograph is taken on the heights near Ōtsuka Station of Tokyo Toshima-ku. Unluckily, the typhoon is approaching and the light rain was falling from the morning on that day. Different from the cheerful weather like summer of a couple of days ago, today is chilly a little. After a long time, I walked to Ōtsuka from Komagome via Sugamo along Yamanote Line for taking photos the spectacle of the daily life in the center of Tokyo. Since I experienced to have walked several times, I know the map of locality. Although I saw some construction works in some places, the salaried workers work as usual and stores do business on time. It is a spectacle the every day which changes nothing. By the way, it is Otsuka Station in Yamanote Line that is visible to right-hand side. The train which goes in the direction of Ikebukuro has stopped at station. If we see well the opposide side of platform, we will notice a white opening-and-closing-type platform door being between a platform and a track for fall accident prevention. Recently, it has spread quickly. On the slope, the car was congested and the man was going up the slope languidly.

Hi Mikio,
His gaze at his feet and the one foot in air is the highlight to my eyes.No doubts the eyes roam from one point to another from slopes to the railways track, still they like to come and stop by the man with his hand in the pocket.

Hello Mikio,
You found a good point for taking this photo. I like looking down the steep slope of the street with two persons walking towards us. The line of parked cars give the view good depth. In the other half of the composition the rail-tracks provide the same sense of depth. It's interesting to see the white platform-gates. They probably save some people from having accidents when crowds push to get closer to the entrances.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Mikio,
Interesting urban view. That hill looks very steep compared tho those railtracks that usually are fairly level. Rainy looking weather fives greyish impression but those few colourful give nice contrasts.

Hi Mikio,
A very intricate and fascinating perspective in this picture. It is quite hard to see what part is going up and what part is going down. The train may be horizontal and the road seems to be a steep upward slope, but I may be wrong... Still a very pleasant daily life scene, an interesting street view. There are not many colours here, but a red sign and a green part of the train are in perfect balance to each other. This may be a lucky coincidence.
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hi Mikio
as a huge car lover, I always enjoy viewing these photos from other countries because we get to see car brands not often seen locally.
For example, I don't recognize the logo of the car on the far right...what is that?
smart idea to include the colorful sign on the left for color, and the steep incline works well too.
lots of interesting subjects to view in the frame.
cheers

This is a good DL shot Mikio. I like the POV you have chosen and your lens has flattened the scene in a way I find very attractive. The shot has a good feel for distance with the background details being clear but softly coloured. Very nice job. Warm regards rosemary

Bonjour Mikio,

Hi Mikio
Great angle and POV, undoubtedly the natural eye sequence is drawn to the left side first, the sweep of down the slopes then to the elevated rail lines lines into the distant.
This shot is offering two diff scenarios bundled together nicely, but in a way that's where the strength of this picture lies. People presence really makes this scene alive with lovely speck of bright colours to finish off effectively. Well done, TFS

View down in depth, Mikio, well collected. And that's inspite of the light rain - I'd not noticed i the rain unless the lady held an umbrella and you specified in the note.
Red and blue on left, green on right, a nice added colors to the mostly grey scene.
Good evening,
Ike

Hi Mikio,
I was a bit silent during past days, yesterday I just came back from my Kerala trip, and it was excellent. My silence is broken. I've already started post photos from this trip.
I like this road snapshot with excellent, interesting content. Your exposing with clear foreground and slightly hazy BG is excellent.
Well done my friend.

Hello Mikio,
I like the perspective and the POV of this photo. The lack of color is and interesting effect, emphasizing the dreariness of the day on which this was taken. That gives me and idea, what if this photo were partially desaturated? I think I'll play with it and upload an alternate version to the workshop.
Is that a Prius C that I see?
Regards,
MT
