Photographer's Note
This photograph is the one having taken it downtown in Tokyo last summer. Awa Dance Festival is one of the Japanese three major Bon Festival Dances in the Bon Festival Dance of which it cradles Tokushima Prefecture. It is held in the municipality in the Tokushima prefecture various places when there is a history for about 400 years, and it becomes summer. The origin of the Awa Dance Festival historically seen is thought to be "Say a prayer to the Buddha while dancing" dance. Especially, it is thought that the prototype of a present Bon Festival Dance of dancing on the spirits of the dead and the ancestor's spirit at the time of the Bon festival was made.
There are two kinds of dances "men dance" and "women dance".
As for "men dance", the voice with good power is put, the dance where the rage dance and ground where air is dynamically danced are crawled twines each other, and the contrast of the response and motion arises there.
As for "women dance" holds colorfulness as the group beauty concurrently with the flowing geniality and grace.

Bon: Bon (盆) is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the departed (deceased) spirits of one's ancestors. This Buddhist custom has evolved into a family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places and visit and clean their ancestor's graves, and when the spirits of ancestors are supposed to revisit the household altars. It has been celebrated in Japan for more than 500 years and traditionally includes a dance, known as Bon-Odori.

Hi Mikio
A full of action shot and a very inviting too. Love how the strong vibrant colors have attracted the eyes and influenced the viewers' mind in looking deeper into this image. Very good technique, nice shooting angle and close enough to highlight the participants in full detail, a picture with good dynamism. They smoothly lead the eyes into the shot. Clarity is good, well exposed, in rich colors and the contrast is so striking. Great fest picture, good notes. Thank you for sharing and congrats
Best regards

Hi dear Mikio. Even though the occasion has to do with the departed ancestors and is associated with the dead, there seems to be joyfulness in this dance- not a solemn occasion. The colours are dramatic with the red, black and white creating strong patterns. It is wonderful to see that although Japan is so Western in many ways, it is still steeped in so much tradition.Best wishes. Klaudio.

Great pattern formed by these people in Japanese costumes with the colors of Japan. The contrast of colors is very good. Congratulations!
