Photographer's Note
A Geisha at near the Togetsu-kyo Bridge in Western Kyoto's Arashiyama. It was autumn, so lots of colourful leaves as well as the splendid Kymono.

Hi Robert,
A well made portrait of this Geisha, nice colors with a good light capture and a beautiful landscape in the BG, Tfs.

A lovely portrait, but why the sad look?
I know of course that Geisha are artists and should be more than capable of posing as fit for a photo ;)
I do like how you managed to capture the color of the season even though it is just through some leaves. But it works excellently with the details of her Kimono, especially with details like the momijo at the top of her Obi.
If I would critique anything it would be that the photo looks very soft and probably could do with some more contrast.
Additionally I feel it is a bit off that her face is not illuminated, but rather in the shade. But I am guessing this was rather spontaneous so reflectors and additional lighting was probably out of the question.
Thanks for sharing.
