Photographer's Note
We arrive at the highest point in Japan (Mt. Fuji) in time to watch the rising sun.
The Japanese say a wise man climbs Mt Fuji once, a fool twice.
Mt. Fuji at 3776 metres last erupted in 1707.

Hello Marlene,
wow, how wonderful this pic, it shows us how big, endless is the sky with all its clouds! It seems like you took the pic from an airplane...very, very nice! I like it...
have a nice WE!

Hello Marlene,
I have the pleasure to be a wise person like you, and I still cherish the memory of the climb some five years ago... We were lucky to have very clear weather but I do not have such a beautiful photo souvenir.
Well captured!

Paul

HI Marlene, this is truly spectacular. I hope you have it enlarged and hanging on your wall. Beautiful placement of the man to give us scale aswell. The rendering of the clouds is superb. Well done and thanks for sharing it, Lisa.

Excellent compostion, Marlene. I like seeing the clouds beneath, as we're always looking up at them.

Hello Marlene,
the sun - no matter if it is rising or setting - always looks its best only when it's seen with "naked eye"! whenever a camera captures it something is always lost (I am saying it because I have taken thousands of photos of the setting sun and some of the rising sun).
But if we don't take into account the details which get lost, I must say that this is a VERY impressive sight! it's like birth of a new planet, maybe? I like it that you included a man in the photo: it helps see the scale and also is a curious (rather philosophic) balance to the rising Sun which is already above the clouds.
Hmm.. this Japanese saying is interesting :) IF I happen to be there I will be wise :)
Have a nice week!
best wishes,
Elena

hi Marlene
Wonderful view up on the mountain so early! The beam is really very striking in this capture and you have done a good exposure to get this effect of the rising sun. Very clever to make sure of the photographer's presence at the right of the frame and letting the slope running diagonally down [or up!].
Above the clouds!
Great work.

Hi Marlene,
Funny climbing slogan, fantastic thick clouds below the peak, good pov to include another visitor at early morning, impressive sunrise view, good contrast of color between bright and dark area, well done.

Hello Marlene,
A great composition with the overwhelming sun, the clouds, the diagonal piece of ground and the silhouette off the man watching the sunrise.
Thanks for sharing,
Gert

Hello Marlene,
Clear management of light that makes the foreground silhouette is excellent. The composition making good use of a trekker looking at the rising sun is also so nice.
It was very joyful for me to descend there running on the gravel.
