Photographer's Note
This may be the only one place in the world where wild monkeys bathe in a natural hot spring water. I think TE friends already know and some friends have been there. The wild monkey park is in Jigokudani Natural Park which protects wild animals living in this district. Visitor (half or more from overseas) can observe very closely many wild monkeys (Nihon-zaru) fed by the park rangers. They are still babies born last spring.

Hello Takero - These are the cutest little creatures and I am quite astonished that they like to bathe in the hot springs. Mind you in the cold of winter why not? A fascinating and really interesting shot and note. Warm regards from a very hot Namibia! Rosemary

Hi Takero!
That's a very intriguing photo, specially from your part, who has used us to festivals!
I like the way they stand in single line. You had a good timing. I am more surprised by the depth of field, with the last little monkey completely blurred despite the fact that the distance with the others is not so big. I am not used to these long lenses, yet! The sharpness on the first monkey of the queue is excellent, with the wet fur at the top of its head.
Bravo.

Marine

Hi Takero,
wonderful specimens of Japanese macaque (Macaca fuscata) busy in grooming. The focused look readable on the second monkey's face in performing its duty is almost human.I had read something about the thermal baths of this species, but i had never seen it before with my eyes.Simply fabulous!Good DOF.

Hi Takero. Now, these monkeys are really famous. The monkeys are looking to enjoy the warm water - and must still back in the cold. I have compassion. Rgds, Wolfgang.

You posted a lovely picture, Takero, yet could not avoid the cliche about the 3 monkeies: One that don't hear about anything, the 2nd never saw anything and the 3rd never say a word...
Hope and presume those are much smarter...Nice picture on the hot-spring.

Bonjour Takero
Dommage que l'ouverture 3,5 nous donne le singe sur la droite un peu flou, car les deux premiers sont magnifiques. Le point de vue est parfait.

Hi Takero,
So finally you went to Jigokudani! Aren't they cute? I liked them so much that I couldn't go away. Such a beautiful shot, wonderful view. Is it snow there? When we where there, it was still quite warm but they enjoyed bath already. Marvelous.
Haha, I had a dream to go there, as some people write, and fulfilled it :)
Warm regards

Hello Takero,
A splendid focus on the first face of these monkey.
This is the first time that I read of the wild monkey park is in Jigokudani Natural Park which protects wild animals living in this district.
Takero, I read that you would buy a 5D MarkII in second hand, but your camera is a lot better!
Sharpness and clarity are very attractive.
Well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello dear Takero-san
We all know of these monkeys in your countries...possibly one of the few breeds who can stay in very cold climate. A fine triple portrait with fine use of gradual bokeh. Thanks for sharing such a cute portrait!
