Another view of the recently opened footbridge connecting the north and south areas of the city of Kuching in Sarawak; this time by night.

The Darul Hana Bridge in Kuching is the only bridge that connects the North and South of Kuching at the moment. The idea to build the bridge was mooted in 2013 by the Sarawak Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud when he was still the Chief Minister of Sarawak.

The bridge, officially opened on 11 November 2017, is Kuching痴 latest landmark, complementing the Brooke-era Astana Palace on the left of the bridge, and the modern Sarawak State Assembly on the right.

At night, the bridge is illuminated with colourful LED lights animating the shape of the bridge which crosses the wide Sarawak River. The colours change very few minutes making for an impressive display.

hello Stephen, original bridge. t looks very interesting during the day but the view in the night is delightful. Excellent night shot. Good colours, superb reflections.
And why do you not use the tripod? I always go with one. There are tripods that are light and not big.

Hello Stephen,
Funny to see how the pylons of the bridge are beautifully illuminated but not the cables, while that had made the beautiful picture complete. But of course the photographer can not do anything about it.

The blue and green illumination of the bridge spans have given some nice reflections in the water. Good sharpness which is critical for this type of time exposure shot and not as easy as it looks. Tfs!

Hello Stephen,

As photographers, we have to applaud the decision to light up bridges! They look amazing with their bright colours but even more attractive as the colours are picked up and reflected in the water!
Maybe it might have looked even better with much of the empty sky cropped, giving more of a panoramic view.
