Photographer's Note
The word "Pastoral" is a combination between wide views of grazes land with plenty of grass and herds of cattle/ships/goats, and separated villages or country houses at least that is my interpretation to this word.
Many call any countryside view "A pastoral views" but without the herds it's not the right description.
In north Mongolia most of the views are pastoral as can be seen in this picture.
I uploaded a month ago similar picture http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Asia/Mongolia/photo99672.htm

Hi Yuval. You've got a nice picture there! I like the lines, the contrast, and the repetitive patterns formed by the cattles. Is it cattles? Looks like sheeps. Cheers!

wow! what a nice graphic shot..I like how the lines made by the hill slopes cross like drapes. All these dots made by the white and black sheeps going in the same direction in a parallel line to the front slope is just perfect to me.

When I was looking through the gallery, I thought it was birds flying over mountains and to my surprise, I find sheeps grazing a beautiful hillside! This is a splendid shot! I love the gently rolling scenery which you composed well. Too bad though that the upper hand of the photo looks a bit dark. (shadow of clouds perhaps?) The contrast of the sheep against the greens would have stood out more (like the middle part of photo) without the shadow. Still a great shot overall! Great job.
Cheers,
Mayumi

Gosto muito do contraste dos animais, curiosamente pretos ou brancos. As texturas e as colinas no primeiro plano d縊 mais for軋 a imagem. Otimo trabalho Yuval.
Sauda鋏es.

beautiful light and wave patterns... it looks somewhat out of focus though as far as the cathhle is concerned... Am I wrong?

A very good photo, too bad you over processed it, but if you have the original and you can reload it without so much sharpening, it would be great.
2 thumbs up for this one

An unusual, and very beautiful image. The quality is rather disappointing, though - something went wrong in the processing?

Very beautiful and unusual sight Yuval. black and white herd grazing on golden green slopes. very pleasant sight. How did you tell all sheeps to walk in same dirction...or may be that's what sheeps always do..? A great capture indeed.

I really like the abstract feel of this Natural photo. You have a great eye to spot this one I think....
The natural triangle that the herd creates is an interesting addition of texture to to the shot- I like it!

It's like a painting. Strange shade of
metallic? green accentuated by black and
white. I think there's some oversharpening
on the edges.

Tremendous pic. The colour combination of Black-White-green mingles together. The composition is very good.

Awesome shot. I like how the composition of the shot is divided up by diagonal colours and lines making this almost abstract. the black and white herds provide a spectacular contrast on the landscape too.

Hi Yuval,
I came across your pic purely by accident but it's so amazing that I felt that I had to write. The parallel lines of the hill sides, on the left conflict in a nice way with the angle of the hill to the right. Even without the strong contrast of the cattle, it would still be a good pic but, with their presence, you've captured a truly great image. The pic is beautifully composed, your use of light is excellent, and your light management is outstanding.
Superb work.
Hugs,
Tony

Your move Yuval, checkmate!
Very interesting subject matter and note.
It appears that the whole herd is moving in one direction (left), very cool how you used the sloping hills in the foreground to neatly frame the animals above.
Smart idea.

Fantastic shot! I remember seeing this a long time ago, and it made an impression on me. This works both as a straight up landscape and also as a type of abstract. Great combination of shapes and patterns. Superb!
