Monks of Kha Khat Wain Kyaung Monastery, a photo from Bago, South

Supposedly there are 1200 monks in this famous Kha Khat Wain Kyaung Monastery, although I was told when there the number is somewhat lower now. Here they are lining up to receive their lunch, and it was a sight to behold.

hi Steve,

The view of the monks with their bowl waiting in queue for their portion of rice is always fascinating for me. they are young boys. Isn't it difficult for them to obey these strict rules? Excellent composition. superb colours and sharpness.

Buddhist monks (but also of the other religions) are a very photogenic subject but here we have a whole row of them! (:-)
Well this is a classic photo: great perspective, great colours, great subject. As always with you the quality of the image is excellent and attracts our interest and attention.
