Sunset time in Bagan is always a magical time.
My eye was caught by the shepherds and their goats going back home, and with the dust around them catching the light...

Hello Julien,
I recognize these colours and the haze from other pictures, but it is surely a magic view. The dust flowing in the air provides an excellent background to the row of people and animals, and the silhouette of the pagoda in the distance balances the composition perfectly. The weak evening light is very well handled.

Its good to see you post again!
You're right about Bagan sunset...magical is the word, but here you've shown something more than just the haze & the silhouettes of the stupas...the shepherds & their cattle with the dust creates a fine interest to this shot, all in pastel hues. Fine work!

Bonsoir Julien,

Une composition tr鑚 riche qui fait parcourir plusieurs kilom鑼res � nos yeux.
Les personnages et les vaches ressortent tr鑚 bien sur la brume claire et les tons uniformes de cette photo lui conf鑽ent une certaine 駘馮ance. Un format vertical bien vu qui propose autant de choses � voir au premier plan qu'au dernier plan.

Hello Julien - I couldn't pass this lovely image by. It seems that time has stood still and the shot could have been taken today or a hundred years ago.Layer upon layer of wonderful detail and the sheperds and flock taking centre stage. This goes into my favorites! Best regards Rosemary

Splendid and moody, misty and dusty, soft pastels and light, daily life of the people shown in the herds being taken home, and temples visible through the haze as well as a good choice of vertical framing all form together to create a wonderful image.

Hello Jullen,

This is a spectacular shot of Bagan. The unusually good depth-of-field has allowed both the returning herd and the silhouette of the distant temple to be in focus. What is especially beautiful is the light illuminating the herd, and the general color scheme. I will free some space among my favorites, in order to hang this beauty among them.

I really like the mood here, soft and dreamy, the world seems to be slowly falling asleep after a long day. the vertical framing works well to emphasise the layers of light, trees and temples in the distance, the result is postcard-perfect. excellent work, my compliments.

Lovely shot - I will be going to Bagan in the coming month of May....where did you take this shot from - were you at higher grounds? We are thinking of staying at the Kumudara Hotel, which is supposed to have nice overviews of the temples...is that the best choices for overhead temple views at Bagan?

An incredibly beautiful texture of details in this picture. the background looks like a hand painted background for some Hollywood movie.

I have seen lots of exceptional shots of Bagan, especially with the magical haze that bathes the site in the morning and evening. What makes yours even better is the incredible way you have captured the shepherds and their flock. The mist illuminates them perfectly. Simply beautiful!

One of my favorite city in Myanmar. This is a beuatiful photo of the sunset, what makes it more special are the farmers going home with the cow and goats. I love the dusty and air, creating a very moody atmosphere. All is very nice with soft texture and light, not too much contrast. Excellent depth and great composition.
