Kotilingeswara mahadev temple, a photo from Bagmati, Central

Photographer's Note

The stony facade that is visible on the northern side of Kal Bhairav is the shrine of Kotilingeshwor Mahadev, located next door to the Maha Vishnu temple. According to old records, sixteenth century King Mahendra Malla built this temple. The temple has been constructed in Gumbaz shaili (or in dome style).
The main entrance to Kotilingeshwor is on the south. The entrance is guarded by two pillars and above them is a small dome-shaped structure (also in Gumbaz style). It is the building on the left. Source : https://www.bigskytreks.com/dt_places/kathmandu-durbar-square

A nice photo with the typical blend of traditional and newer buildings. The view feels generally familiar even though I don't recall this particular place. Light and colours are pleasant.

Hello Miguel,

An interesting view from Kathmandu, showing a contrast of the old buildings (which I find much more visually appealing), and the new style buildings.
I particularly like the small temple on the left, with its pillared entrance and double dome.
Is the larger building being repaired as a result of the earthquake?

A good cityscape, in which you show a great variety of buildings in a very pleasant and well-handled sunlight. The composition is also well-balanced and includes the many people in the foreground as well, who add a nice impression of daily life.

so sad to see the old structures at the brink of collapse. I suppose the scaffolding is there to support but it does not appear as if it was of good quality neither.
Interesting contrast of the old structures with the surrounding present day buildings,

as i'm looking around the scene, its hard to find any tourists, there might be two i see, with backpacks, but otherwise it appears to be all locals. interesting to see the style of wheelchair on the left as well. Love these inner city shots of daily life with the architecture. cheers

Hi Gueguel,

The photo has plenty of detail of buildings and people, and shows well the somewhat run-down and crowded nature of the city here. But it looks too washed out. It needs to be darkened to give it more realism. You might lose details in the shadows but overall the photo would be improved.

A vibrant scene from the streets of Kathmandu, Miguel.
