Taken in the streets of Lahore almost 35 years ago.

I wonder how this street scene appears today?

I also do wonder about the people in this photo - I hope their lives have been happy?

It,s always good when (wo)men make a holyday no meter where and take couple shots from day life there .Nice scene from Lahore in year of my birth!!!!

Marlene, I can maybe answer your question; the streets are changed beyond recognition. The cycles, tongas, and the pedestrians are now replaced by large suv's with tinted glasses and oozing diesel fumes. Some of the oold city remains somewhat similar.

In 1975 I was yet to be born - not for another 5 years - but even I can stand testimony to the change Pakistan has seen; unfortunately for the worst.

I have recently posted a couple of pictures from Lahore and will post a few more.

another oldie! I like them a lot :)
I like this street scene which shows the local daily life back in the Past. Anyway, somehow it seems to me that not much has changed there.
The contrast is rather deep, but I guess it's because of a very sunny day...

What a precious documentary shot!
At a glance I cannot believe that it was taken 35 years ago, maybe the situation still remains not so changed yet. I can feel the chaos and busyness in the town very well.

let me tell you the name of place. this place called ''Anar Kalli"" very important and famous shopping street even today..

nice dailylife scene. I liked the crowd mixed in the chaotic architecture and adds. I think in that time madness wasn't walking in this streets like it sometimes does today.

Hello Marlene,
Lahore! How I remember that city from long ago, and how I regret that I never got any good photos there. Maybe I was too overwhelmed by the heat and the dust and the crowds. This very ordinary street scene certainly shows life as it was.

dear Marlene,
in my feeling this atmosphere is rather easygoing and leisurely than late time.
the time looks passing more and more slowly in 1975 of your this shot.
always I think maybe the civilization is not evolving but regressing...
when is the most happy age for human creatures on the history, really I cannot know.
but people in this shot look more peaceful than contemporary Pakistan, to my eyes.

Hi Marlene,
even if the environment of this street has changed since 1975 it is probably interesting to go here. I like this old scan very much, there are a lot of details to discover in this frozen moment for almost 35 years ago.
