Photographer's Note
These are Laya and Nene enjoying the breathtaking view of one of the many rice terraces in Sagada. They are university students from Manila who I met on a bus trip from Baguio to Sagada. Sagada is a pleasant little tranquil community in the Mountain Province in the Cordillera Region of Northern Philippines. A place known for its rice terraces, hanging coffins, caves, and a milieu of other breathtaking sceneries, Sagada offers an ideal haven to its inhabitants and a taste of "Shangri-la" to intrepid enough visitors.
Located 275-km north of Manila (100-km from Baguio) near the provincial capital of Bontoc, it's a long day's bus ride starting from the Dangwa bus station in Baguio over the narrow mountain tracks traversing the Cordilleras.
On a personal note, it was because of this photo that I discovered TE. A friend alerted me that this photo, which I took and first uploaded at MIP (a website about the Philippines), was posted by another person under his name. My sincerest thanks to Adam for fixing the whole mess.

Hello Bay,
It is indeed a magnificient sceney worth visiting. The colors in this photo is sooo natural that it feels you're there ... well it does bring back memories.
Good choice including your two friends (hope you had lots of fun) in your composition as it adds perspective and dimension to the scene. This will possibly generate a lot of some imaginative feedbacks if this was in MIP :) Well done ... TFS.

Hi Danilo,
This is what is known as perspective. Presence of Laya and Nene, the contrast in their dresses, booms the shot of nice DOF.
Well done,

Hi Danilo,
An awesome point of view! Did you have to clim or is there a road hidden behind your back?
The green of freshly planted rice is a beautiful colour, but not so much here but in fact you need the water in the field to make the lines stand out in this distance...
Fine diagonal line in the valley, good colours contrast by the yellow t-shirt!

Serwus Danilo !
Skilfully chosen perspective on these always fascinating terraces. Very nice crop without sky and light in the valley add dynamism to the scenery. Well exposed, very good quality.
Thank You and best wishes,

Wonderful capture Danilo. Lovely landscape. I relly like the terraces on the mountain. This would have been a not so good shot without those two human elements in the foreground. Their presence has given a different perspective to the composition. Lovely contrasting colours on their dresses. Well seen and captured.

Hi Danilo,
Excellent composition. I like your POV. And thanks for letting us know ur introduction to TE. Its a shame that such things happen but sometimes it works out for good. The colours of the dress here contrsats so well with the green rice terraces. It could so well have been a place in Nepal. Nice capture.

Hi Danilo,
"Green is good for the eyes" - that's for sure.
Impressive view you have captured here. Must be paradise for photographers. I love rice fields and I don't think I have ever seen such an intensive view of them before.
Good idea to include the girls - adds a good contrast to the image.

The composition makes me to think of the hard work the people of this place have did to make this mountanious place to a clitivated land. The view of this green and rich land is fantastic. Including these girls allow us to see through their eyes. Interstingshot Congrats and TFS

Hi Danilo,
Lovely detail in the terraces, I like pair on the rock with the CD wallet of Music(?)
What an interesting story, I found TE in Outdoor Photography. One of the fellows being published said he had learned it all on TE.

A stunning vista and a perfectly composed photograph, Danilo. Your two subjects provide depth and colour contrast, and I like how you have selected your POV so that they don't block out any part of the view of the rice terraces. Cheers . . . David
