The end of the Rurik dynasty and the beginning of the "Time of troubles" in Russia was due to the death of the yung brother of the tzar - a posible heir to the throne, or rather his murder, at his and his mother's house of refuge in Ulgrich. The boy Dimitry allegedly played in the yard and fell on a knife that cut his neck. At the place where he died, a picturesque church (Tserkov' Tsarevicha Dimitriya Na Krovi) was built on the banks of the Volga River.
