Photographer's Note
A longboat slices across the waters of Phangnga Bay, as a blast of tropical rain rolls across James Bond Island. The huge limestone towers are up to one thousand feet high and dominate the area in huge numbers. This was an amazing sight from the air, flying into the adjoining island provence of Phuket. This was taken from an identical longboat travelling beside at the same speed. The original, being much larger was in colour, but i found it to be overexposed and dull in colour. Taken on the way to Ko Pangi, a Muslim sea village floating in the middle of the bay.

I like the boat but I am more attracted at the mountains in the background. The shape is very unusual from what I know here. The picture is very good. The panoramic format work well to expand the scene. Good action shot in dual tones. Thanks Matt.

Hi Matthew,
Like the little speedboat in the left corner. It just makes the difference between a standard longboat picture and one with that extra catch. The panoramic view works well, as does the duo tone! Looks almost like the two are chasing each other... Nice one!

Hi Matt, the black and white format in this one gives it an older look. I like the panorama format as well. It very nicely captures the two (and trailing) peaks, the two boats and that awesome sky. The boats themselves demonstrate a lot of power the way you have captured their sharp wake. Very nicely done.
Is it really called James Bond Island? That's just too cool; now you have a chase scene.
Thanks, John

Hi Matthew,
Great speed, you really catched the right moment. Not only the scene it self, but also the placement of the boats. That burst of weater at the back is really making this picture very dynamic although the landscape it self is very peacefull with all these strange looking mountains...i like that a lot..!!!

I would never have considered B&W for such a shot..how wrong can I be? It works just fine. Your cinematic format provides a strong sense of forward motion and the conversion is first clas. Congrats.

Hi Matt. Very good action shot on the waters of Phangnga Bay. Looks like a wonderful place to visit. Sharp and clear. I would like to see the colour version too. Murray.

Hi Matt,
Excellent shot! You've caught the action of the passing longboat, the speedboat, and the waves behind them very well. Those mountains in the background are very interesting with their different shapes - kinda reminds me of the Glasshouse Mts :) Good choice of B&W and use of a panoramic format - works well. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Matthew,
I like this panoramic view that you have used for this shot. The composition of the boats and the spray from them is great. This place reminds me a bit of Halong bay in Vietnam. Nicely done, and the black and white was a good choice.
