Thu Bon river, a photo from Quang Nam, South Central Coast

Photographer's Note

Established in the 15th century, the town of Hoi An was an important trading hub where Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese merchants conducted business with each other and with foreigners from the West. It is located about 30 kilometers south of Danang on an estuary of the Thu Bon river.

Nowadays along the river are the remains of the ancient port and picturesque waterfronts.

We were strolling along the waterfront taking a lot of pictures of the old buildings when I saw this beautiful scenery. I asked her about a picture by pointing to the camera, she only smiles ... in a way that I believe that she loves to be captured.

Nice, a bit shyish portrait showing the woman looking under her hat. Good warm light and peaceful water background.

You got a very good lighting here. It's such a sharp picture.
She has a calming aura. She wore nice clothes with soft colours. Her smile was also soft and calm. And, she only owned a bowl and a pot for her journey. Symbols of patience in the midst of harshness of life.

Wonderful light and framing; the woman fills the frame while the clothes, boat and river define her place in the world. How interersting to see the bare foot and thos ubiquitous disposable gloves. I like this photo a lot, I think it's the smile your friendly approach garnered.
