Photographer's Note
Roat疣 is a small island in the Caribbean and is the largest of theBay Islandsof Honduras.
It is small 48miles long, and about 5 miles wide. . The island rests on an exposed ancient coral reef, rising to about 270 metres (890ft) above sea level. Second largest reef in the world.
Christopher Columbuson his fourth voyage (15021504) came to this island. Soon after the Spanish began raiding the islands forslavelabor. More devastating for Native American communities was exposure to diseasesfor which they had no immunity, such assmallpoxandmeasles. No indigenous people survived the consequent epidemics.
Over the next several hundred years there were repeated conflicts for this island between Spain and Great Britain. The location was attractive to everyone, and in time there were many people migrating from other islands in the Caribbean to include the Cayman Islands. However a major population here came with an influx of Spanish speaking people from the Honduran mainland. . Even the mainlander influx was dwarfed in number and economic effects by the overwhelming tourist presence in the 21st century. Today tourism reigns here, and the beaches, with the new harbor have been a magnet for Roatan. This photo is of a small store near the beach. Ship traffic here has risen consistently.

Dear Roger,
What an orgy of colours! This how I imagine the Caribbeans: sunshine and vivid colours.
Best Wishes,

Hello Roger,
The nicely rendered warm lights and colours are distinctly Caribbean. An interesting little store captured from the ideal angle.

Hi Roger,
The tight frame is putting the building in evidence. The point of view is showing the details of the facade of the store. The good luminosity is enhancing the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Roger,
I like the warm colors of yellow on the facade of the building and the fish artwork. Good sharpness and tight framing. The fish at right about to eat another caught my eye. Tfs!

Hi Roger.
I love this picture, with all that color, both the house and the objects for sale, an image that conveys joy and positivism.
A nice color, in these natural tones.
Too much sharpness, such as lighting are great.
Very well done. I like it
Enjoy a good weekend.
Best wishes.
Luis.

Hello Roger,
I heard that Honduras isn't an easy country to get around.
Apparently this island attracts a lot of tourists.
A very colourful sight of this shop that doesn't sell anything made in China :)
Did you buy something nice there?
Best regards, Paul
