Hello friends and colleagues, today I offer a view of the charming village of Hallstatt, I discovered through photos of a fellow this site.I hope you like it, then some letters on the town.

Hallstatt / halʃtat / (Upper Austria) is a village in the mountainous district of Salzkammergut, Austria. It is located near the lake Hallst舩ter See.

Etymologically, the name probably comes from the Celtic Hall term that is called salt, abundant in nearby mines.
The town gives its name to the culture of the so-called Iron Age Hallstatt culture
In 1997, the cultural landscape of Hallstatt-Dachstein was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

Until the nineteenth century the only possibility to reach the village was by boat or by narrow paths. The land between the mountains and the lake was low this little land being occupied by the town itself. Access between the house and the lakeshore was done through an elevated walkway over the attics of houses. The first major road was built in 1890 by the west through the rock.

But in this isolated and inhospitable place one of the first human settlements were established thanks to salt deposits. Some of the oldest finds date from 5000 BC Hallstatt In 1846 Johann Georg Ramsauer discovered a prehistoric cemetery near the present site of the town. The research of Ramsauer continued until 1863, more than 1,000 graves unearthed meticulously from the first to the last. Each tank was measured and drawn before and after being excavated. This study methodology deposits begins a new, more methodical way of performing archaeological studies.

Commercial activity and abundance of resources allowed the development of a highly developed after results of Salzberghochtal culture, was named the Hallstatt culture.

There is to date registered notable events occurred in Hallstatt during the Roman era or early Middle Ages. In 1311, Hallstatt became a commercial city, showing he had not lost its economic value. Today, apart from salt production, which since 1595 is transported in the form of brine about 40 kilometers from Hallstatt to Ebensee through a pipe, tourism plays a major factor in the economic life of the city. They say tourists Hallstatt is the place "of the old pipe in the world", which was built 400 years from 13,000 hollow logs. The land is so scarce that at ten bodies were exhumed from the cemetery to clear land for new graves being moved to an ossuary. A collection of elaborately decorated skulls with the names of their owners, occupations and dates of death inscribed on them are on display in the local chapel.

This beautiful town is actually sandwiched between the steep mountain slope and the lake.

Angel, the geometry of the shot is what struck me at first - both the slopes on the left and right converging to the church tower at the bottom. Bold, well-saturated colors. The town itself looks like a lovely place (or at least a place that has lovely views!)

Hello Angel,
Such a lovely view down the shoreline of the lake with the many houses of the town scattered around against the green slopes. The bluish mountains in the right background look nice too. I also like the reflections in the calm water.

Hola Angel,

What a lovely location for a village, right on the edge of the lake, with the mountains as a backdrop!
I like how you have composed the photograph, anchoring the f/g with the fenced balcony and colourful figures, and getting the 'v' shape of the valley right on the thirds' line.
The details are sharp and the reflections on the lake make a great guide.

this scene of Hallstatt i have seen it some times but each time i like it even more.I like the beautiful and unique environment with the verdant forest of the left to reach the bank of the lake.Excellent presentation with the light and the colour management to enhance the beauty as the calmness of the image.

Some other photographers were on the wooden balcony, taking pictures of the beautiful green slope and the small town on the waterfront, Angel.
Fine contrast from blue sky to green trees, and good DOF along the lake.

What could be better this place for summer live in the Central Europa? So I prefer the seabeaches and seashores, but this view is so attractive. The colors are superb! Although I think the winter colors are not so picturesque. TFS!

beautiful place, I have seen some pictures from it already, it is so photogenic indeed.
You composition is slightly different from a typical composition showing an original POV I believe.
Fantastic quality. I like the low hanging clouds, and the people enjoying the view as well. Beautiful day and wonderful natural and well saturated colors.
