Photographer's Note

Hallstatt is a village in the Salzkammergut, a region in Austria. It is located near the Hallst舩ter See (a lake). At the 2001 census, it had 946 inhabitants. Alexander Scheutz has been mayor of Hallstatt since 2009.

Hallstatt is known for its production of salt, dating back to prehistoric times, and gave its name to the Hallstatt culture, a culture often linked to Celtic, Proto-Celtic, and pre-Illyrian peoples in Early Iron Age Europe, c.800�450 BC. Some of the earliest archaeological evidence for the Celts was found in Hallstatt.

Hallstatt in China is a housing development in the town Luoyang, Boluo County, in China. It is modelled after the Austrian city Hallstatt.

The area was built by the mining company China Minmetals. The flats in the area are mostly still in construction and are for sale. The center of the area contains a replica of the church, the fountain and various other objects from the original Hallstatt./wiki/

Hello Piotr,
Most times we see this village from the lakeside, and this is the first time I saw a photo taken from a higher point and added the lake to "balance" the scenery.
The late afternoon side light handled well, fantastic sight of the beautiful houses and the far side slopes.

Widzę, ze odwiedziłeś też Halstatt. Ja znam tylko ze zdjęć, ale wydaje mi sie, ze to najatrakcyjniejsza mała miejscowośc w Austrii. Bardzo ładne zdjecie, z widokiem miasta, jeziora i g w głębi. Ciekawa jestem jak wyglada ten Hastatt w Chinach.

Zobaczyła w Googlu ten chiński Halstatt. Troche budynk skopiowali, łącznie z kosciołem, ale Alp nie dalo rady nawet Chińczykom :)

Not sure if this is the same lake Sound of Music was filmed at but it looks familiar. Good elevated vantage point with excellent sharpness. I like the patches of sunlight on the mountain. Tfs!
