Photographer's Note

Hello friends and colleagues, today I propose this scene of daily life in the main square of the charming village of Hallstatt, I discovered it through photos of a TE partner. I hope you like it, then some letters about the villa.

Hallstatt / halʃtat / (Upper Austria) is a town in the mountainous district of the Salzkammergut in Austria. It is located near the Lake Hallst舩ter See.

Etymologically the name of Hall probably comes from the Celtic term with which was denominated to the salt, abundant in the near mines.
The locality gives its name to the culture of the age of Iron denominated Culture of Hallstatt
In 1997, the cultural landscape of Hallstatt-Dachstein was declared Patrimony of the Humanity by Unesco.

Until the nineteenth century the only possibility to reach the town was by boat or by narrow paths. The land between the mountains and the lake was scarce being this little land occupied by the locality itself. The access between the houses and the lake shore was made through a raised walkway over the attics of the houses. The first important road was built in 1890 on the west side through the rock.

Nevertheless in this isolated and inhospitable place one of the first human settlements was established thanks to the deposits of salt. Some of the oldest finds in Hallstatt date back to 5000 A.C. In 1846 Johann Georg Ramsauer discovered a prehistoric cemetery near the present site of the town. Ramsauer's research work continued until 1863, unearthing more than 1000 pits meticulously from the first to the last. Each pit was measured and drawn before and after excavation. This methodology of study of the deposits begins a new methodical way to carry out archaeological studies.

Commercial activity and abundance of resources allowed the development of a highly developed culture, after results of Salzberghochtal, was named the culture of Hallstatt.

To date there are no notable events occurring in Hallstatt during Roman times or early Middle Ages. In 1311, Hallstatt became a commercial city, showing that it had not lost its economic value. Today, apart from salt production, which has been transported in the form of brine some 40 kilometers from Hallstatt to Ebensee through a pipeline since 1595, tourism plays a major role in the economic life of the city. The tourists say that Hallstatt is the site "of the oldest pipe in the world", which was built 400 years ago from 13,000 hollowed logs. The land is so scarce that at ten years the bodies of the cemetery were exhumed to leave ground for new burials being transferred to an ossuary. A collection of skulls elaborately adorned with the names of their owners, professions and death dates inscribed on them are on display in the local chapel.

Austria es un pa�s muy bonito ! Esto es un pueblo de so con las casas coloridas y la monta verde sobresaliente. Tambien me gusta la peqe iglesia de estilo delicioso que parece vigilar al pueblo.

purtroppo le auto si fermano sempre nei posti dove non dovrebbero stare, senza l'auto rossa la foto avrebbe avuto un effetto maggiore.
In ogni caso si tratta di una bella foto e di un bellissimo luogo.

Hola amigo Angel.
Una preciosidad, lo que me imagino es la plaza del pueblo, con una serie de hermosas fachadas y escultura central, la iglesia detras completa el bonito conjunto arquitectonico de este bonito pueblo.
Un gran colorido que da mucho atractivo a la imagen.
Muy buena gestion tanto de la iluminaci, como de la nitidez.

I've done that many times, we learn from each other here.

its great that you left most of the sky out, that way the green trees are allowed to POP and take control of the bg.
and the charming photogenic homes in the fg take control in their area. sweet shot in this harsh light. I've enjoyed this one. cheers
