Photographer's Note
This is a view up the beautiful Stubai Valley near Innsbruck, from the slopes of Hoher Burgstall mountain in the Kalkkogel range. On the left is Habicht (3277 m), and the highest peak in the right background, surrounded by glaciers, is the Zuckerhutl (3507 m) which is the highest peak in the Stubai Alps.
To get here you can catch a tram from Innsbruck to the town of Fulpmes, and then a cable car from Fulpmes to a high point in the Kalkkogel, and from there you can walk the many trails that run around the mountains. I recommend the tram trip, but you won't find any information about it on the Innsbruck tourist websites. I had to dig deep into the internet to find a timetable for it. The tram leaves from the main railway station in Innsbruck, and takes one hour to get to Fulpmes, passing by fields and forests and villages with mountain views. It was a highlight of our stay in Innsbruck.

Hi Vincent,
I remember skiing in this region but since I didn't have a car I was always driven there by my colleague which means that I can never remember the actual places I have visited.
Spectacular sight, and a great composition with the interesting rock formation in the foreground.
The snow covered peaks look so impressive.
Excellent work,
M

Hi Vince
A superb one from a very scenic region. Great detail and colour especially in the large view and I do like the foreground rocky outcrop.

Hi Vincent,
I did a daytrip and bus tour from Munich to Innsbruck and only had time for Hafelekarspitze, but this looks even better. I like the flattened perspective from the zoom which make the snowcapped peaks appear much larger and closer than they really are. The fg crag is spectacular. Tfs!

Hello Vincent,
You have certainly captured the relief of the mountains, from this elevated position. The snow covered peaks look quite formidable!
Your composition is excellent, using the f/g rocky outcrop to anchor the f/g and create this immense sense of depth.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Vincent,
Impressive high Alpine landscape. These mountains aren't actually as high as in Switzerland or France, but there still are lots of snow up there. Rocks on the foreground look interesting too. It's a couple of decades since my last visit to Innsbruck, and for sure it would be a nice destination again.
