We could have driven in a couple of hours to our next destination if we壇 chosen the motorway, but of course we took a more scenic route through the Austrian Alps. I took this photo near the town of Schrken in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg.

Hello Lars, So you left Lindau. Marvellous view of these Alp meadows and mountains. It is really an idyllic view. Great colours and sharpness. Interesting that there is a patch of snow.

I crossed this region many decades ago, not so much memories left. a marvelous view of the landscape with the mountains of beautiful shapes and the pine trees in evidence with the typical houses.

De allereerste foto van het plaatsje Schrken op deze site!
Prachtig alpenlandschap gepresenteerd in een mooie evenwichtige compositie.
De eeuwige sneeuw tussen twee bergflanken springt centraal op de foto onmiddellijk in het oog.
Mooie afwisseling van alpenweiden en bossen waarbij de huizen op een goed uitzichtpunt gebouwd werden.

Hi Lars
This looks like it has been shot at mid-day. For landscape photography, shooting in the 'golden hours' would give a more pleasing light, being at the location at the right time is not always possible. But this can make the difference between a great shot, and something ordinary.

Dit is zeker een idyllisch landschap. De vele tinten groen en het plukje resterende sneeuw hebben er veel mee van doen. De huizen zijn goed geplaatst.

Goedenavond Lars,

Ik ben al vele jaren overtuigt dat Oostenrijk een van de mooiste landen is in Europa, ik weet dat ik tegen vele schenen zal schoppen, maar uw foto doe hier een bijdrage bij.
Zo'n heerlijk landschap met een paar van de berg woningen.
Het is een fantastische foto, heerlijk panorama.

This looks similar to Tyrell or south Bavaria, or even Upper Austria near lake Wolfgang, where parts of the Sound of Music were filmed. Nice to see that westernmost Austria also has wonderful alpine scenery. Tfs!

Hello Lars,

This is the typical scene that is conjured up, if anyone mentions the Alps.
It is totally beautiful!
The slopes are green and even the mountains seem benign, with their green covering.
The chalets fit the scenery, adding a welcome note for hikers or tourists.
I like how well you have included the wooden feature in the f/g. Not sure what it is but it is perfectly placed in this fine composition.

Hello Lars, of course you had to take the scenic route!
I don't know how high these mountains are, but I am surprised at how green the mountains are with trees quite a fair way up.
I like this composition with the chalets in the foreground.
